Developing the technology ecosystem has been one of Türkiye's economic priorities in recent years. Approximately 150,000 people are employed and over 100,000 projects have been developed in Istanbul’s Technology Development Zones, R&D Centers and Design Centers, which all provide various incentives. With the support provided, R&D expenditure has increased by 161% in the last 5 years. This has enabled Istanbul to rise up the ranks of the Global Innovation Index by 18 places.
